“This grace in which we now stand”

Whether that’s a sporting team, work team or committee we naturally think and talk in the language of merit: “they earned their place”, “they’re a valued member of the team”, “they bring something special” etc. But does this apply to being part of God’s team? How to Read the Bible with your Wife

man woman bookMost Christian husbands I speak to like the idea of reading the Bible with their wife but feel guilty because it hasn’t happened much (or at all) in their marriage.  I totally get it. For many years I failed completely in this area. Reading the Bible with my wife was like one of the jobs on my domestic job list that seemed completely beyond me (rehang a cupboard door, put up shelves, replace a tap etc). This wasn’t anything to do with her mind you – I just couldn’t or wouldn’t do anything about it.

Being Christian in a Digital World

The Next storyI first heard about The Next Story while listening to the author, Tim Challies, interviewed on a podcast.  Tim is a prolific and well established Christian blogger (challies.com) and after hearing the interview I was inspired to read his book about “faith, friends, family and the digital world”. It was perfect timing, since I was feeling more aware of the changes technology was bringing to our lives (and my life) and I wanted to think more about.
